I am thinking of buying used appliances.. but would like to know the exact year I have the model and serial # of the items..

Hey Doug, should we advise on buying a 12 year old washer? Not sure it would be worth hooking them up. I'm interested to learning how you pulled up the ages.

The f (2nd letter in serial #) in the serial #'s is the code for 1996. Buying a 12 old appliance is a risk. I have a friend who deals in used appliances, replaces bad parts, give a 90 day warranty and has good luck with the units he sells. Personally, I would not, however, many folks can only afford to buy these. You are very correct, One should be advised that a 12 yr. old appliance could be costly. I have a chart that gives the age of most the major brands
