I just got in contact with an OLD girlfriend... like my first love the other week... we both lost our virginity to one another, and were high school swwethearts. We broke up over pretty much nothing, and I haven't seen nor talked to her in about 8 years... well we are going to meet up next weekend... CRAZY. I am north thinking about anyhting but re-buliding a friendship that was pretty much thrown away, but I am SCARED!! I actually contacted her, not thinking she would ever say anyhting back, but she did... nuts. I figured I would at least like to know how she was doing, but thought I would never hear back. She contacted me super nice wanting to meet up... couldn't believe it. I am pretty sure there are no feelings left from either of us, but it is just going to be strange seeing her again. Not really asking for anything here, just htought I would share. I am actually a little afraid.

Yeah we have all been there my friend :)
I met up with a few of my xs over time. Even the most insane ones
But you never know it might be strange. Or it might be great.
I say good luck hope you have a great time!

jeffatl,
Relax and just go for it. If nothing else just have a nice time catching up. If you don't you will often wonder 'what if'.

Go for it. If nothing else, you'll have fun and renew a friendship. Who knows? Maybe you'll even end up together! Don't be nervous. Just be yourself and have fun.

Hey Jeff.. long time no 'see'..
How are you doing otherwise? It has been a while and you have had enough time to reflect and grow, so where is the problem? Just keep it light and easy, and let her do most of the talking - that way you can't do anything wrong. Try not to get on a soapbox or place any blame, just share some time and do a lot of listening. Let this meeting determine what happens next and stop thinking further ahead - there just might not be a next time - but that is not guaranteed yet, so stop your worrying.
On a lighter note, glad you are still around and I wish you all the best.
Just relax!

I'm not really worried or freaking out... it is just an odd situation... like seeing an old best friend. It should be pretty cool to see her. I'm cool, nothing more to this than catching up a little.

No expectations. You are not the same "kids" you were in high school. If you were truly friends and not just "lovers" with all the pressures of high school, you can meet as old friends do and see what comes of it. Maybe you won't meet again for another 8 years. So what. True friendships never die.

Jeff: What made you contact her? I'm just curious what was running in your mind and what gave you the push to call?

Good Question! I'm kind of curious myself.
