 Hi, I'm wkkeller. I have been having a very hoarse voice, a deep almost like a congested cough, and after coughing, short of breath. This has been going on for 5 months. I've been to 5 specialists and no one can find anything wrong. This is very frustrating as I need to be looking for a job, but who will hire someone that can't talk. This condition started after taking a medication called Zonegran. Can anyone help me?

I really find it difficult to believe that five specialists can't find anything wrong and don't know th cause of your condition. I looked up zonegran to check side effects and found that there are none similar to your affliction. This drug is used for seizures; so if you would care to give us more information maybe we can direct you to solving your problem, but I suggest you go back to the doctor who prescribed it in the first place. SOME doctor has to have an answer, or go to your nearest emergency room at the hospital and see if they can help you.

Was given Zonegran because I had carpel tunnel surgery and the nerve endings were not healing. Was having major nerve pain. Went to Allergist, ENT, Lung, endoscopy, rhumatologist, family dr. All tests are clear and chest exray clear. Dr said that it does not have anything to do with the medication. All Drs are as frustrated as I am.
