View Full Version : Pregnant? Maybe!

Okay, here goes with the question I hate to read everyday... Am I pregnant?

Really just venting here because I know I will call the doctor in the morning.

Occurence:
Last period was January 3 lasted 4 days (normal). Periods have been 32 days apart for about 2 years now. Had sex with hubby on the 7th and 9th. Now, the only reason I even half-way thought I could be was... have been very emotional for the past 3-5 days (everything is making me cry), very very very very (can I say it enough) tender boobs (like I want ice packs on them sore... coming and going though). I have been cramping like I was going to start again... lots of mucus discharge (clear and thin).

The only reason I tested was after the third person asked me if I was (because of touchiness)... I started thinking... could I be? While talking with a friend and asking about earliness... she said go test anyhow. I did and it came back very faint positive. That was at around 4pm yesterday and tested 5 minutes after I had just urinated. So, I am nervous that I have opened my mouth to soon... I said I would test again in a couple of days. Went to bed excited and woke up at 2am and I just couldn't wait and did another test. Same result, but it is little more faint than the first.

So, should I wait to call the doc... have been on prenatals for a year (been trying that long). Do you think this would be one of those false positives I hear about? I am nervous and excited and I just can't calm down about it.

If I call he doc... would the blood test show this early?

Thank you all for your answers and also for letting me vent here :)

Positive means positive. But for the test to be most accurate you need to test using first morning urine.

Sorry to double post... but...

I AM! Woo Hoo!!

Went this morning and it was confirmed by the doc. Not exactly sure how far along... my calculations say 1.5 weeks... the docs says that it wouldn't show this early if that was all. So, in her belief.. I am 6 weeks along. We will know more, Monday, when then blood tests come back.

Sorry to bust the excitement around here. Got bad news today. Second blood test came back with a number of 34... not good. Doc says I should go through a miscarriage any day now.
On the bright side... we know it can happen and will start trying again in about three months. Thanks so much for all of your support.

Thanks so much Synnen! I am pretty depressed about it... trying to look at the bright side of things (it's hard). But, I won't give up... we will try again in a few months. I guess I was just hit blindsided by this (the pregnancy and the miscarriage) it has my emotions in a spin.

I am so sorry to hear the news R. I know it's hard, and there are no right words to say to help you get over this. But, as you know, time heals.

Wishing you the best.
