I opened a credit card with Capital One in 2002 and made purchases in the amount of $70.00 I didn't realize the fees that they charged and asked them to close the account. Now I found they have a lien against me for $1200. And when I called them today they said its now $1900.00 is there anything I can do to get that removed or reduced??

I think you should get a copy of your credit report while you are cleaning things up.
