I do want to up grade a bathroom, Can someone please tell me about the codes in California for the lighting? do all needs to be flourecents? Recess lights? Or you are allowed to have regular light (with own switch) and recess lights apart with their own switch?

Here is the lighting regulations from Title 24:

Review Section 6.4 on page 6-11 that discusses bathrooms.
I do know that any fixture must be Title 24 rated, which most now are.

Thanks so much for this help, Also if I do want to install a hot tub, what size of braker and wire I need?and because I do running emt pipe,can I run the wire inside?

Need to know the size of electrical load to size the hot tub circuit. Most are in the 50 amp range using #6 copper wire. There are several code requirements for tubs, such as GFI, and a switch no closer than 5 feet from the tub.
Wiring methods are fairly universal with Romex in homes. But there are areas that only allow or disallow certain methods. Contact the local inspector to learn what is allowed.
