Hey... I have a male cat... his name is ZAC... I got him six months ago... I don't know his exact age but I guess he's 2 or may be 1 and half yr old... its my first pet so I can't count on this... so anyway... suddenly he has started coughing... now I have been searching internet but unable to find a definite answer... I don't know if its an asthma attack or else... he didn't vomit hairball... can you give me some more symptoms if its an asthma... and does asthma kill cats?? :( oh by the way its winter... so may be its just a regular coughing... please let me know...

Your cat could have an upper respiratory infection (triggered by the winter) just take to the vet and he/she can diagnose. Or it could also just be hairballs. My cat is 13 years old and get's hairballs very commonly. Just because a cat has a hairball doesn't mean he will cough it up. It can be treated with special food and a vet visit. So my advice is to visit your vet.
