This past weekend we had my BIL (a certified HVac installer) come out and replace our old Lennox furnace (it was installed when the house was built, 22 years ago) he installed a Goodman furnace.

My question is this, does this type of furnace use a filter? If so, where do you install it?

Bonus question!

Does anyone else who has this type of furnace have an issue with the noise? It sounds like a jet engine taking off!

We have heat, and it does not run long, so no complaints, just wondering about the large amount of noise~

Your installer should have instructed you on the filter and show you where it is. They all need filters ,I`ve not had a complaint about noise,, is it coming from your fresh air return ? Could be the lack of a filter is causing the louder noise.
