I have a yucca plant that I rescued from the old folkes home where I work, it was doing really well l as I re-potted it and it had some light for the first time in god knows how many years.
Then my cat had kittens, we kept one and since then the plant has looked more and more unhealthy. (the kitten uses it as a scratching post) we've bought an actual scratch post but she refuses to use it and I wondered if any one can help save my beautiful plant. I've heard that if you cut the branches down then they re-grow but I'm scared.
Meow xxxx:(

Right now don't prune the plant. Give it a chance to recoup from kitty's antics. Don't over water either. Had them in my yard in Florida and the less I did to them the better they liked it. Just keep out of kitty's reach in a good sunny window.

Yes, it may be possible saved.
Can you post pictures of the tree and the area that got damaged?

And put some mesh, like fine chicken wire or light wire flower trellis, around it till the kitty move to their scratchpost...

The cat has to go,

Then thy plant shall grow!

I agree with this solution completely.
