I have signed up for a breastfeeding class and a lamaze class. I know my husband will go with me to the lamaze class but is it typical for your husband to attend the breastfeeding class also? I don't want to drag him along and he be the only male there but I don't want to tell him not to come and other people have brought their partners with them.

Many times the husband doesn't come to the boyfriend class. He is more than welcome to come, and many moms find it helpful as when things become stressful... and they will... he can be of much better support and help to you both. I unfortunately missed my boyfriend class since I had my little guy 5 weeks early, and I can definitely say it would have made a big difference if me or my husband had known a little bit more than we did. Let him make the decision. If he doesn't want to go, no big deal. If he does, just know that he will be able to help you figure things out. He may be the only guy there, though.

I would say you want him there. The only reason I have made it so long boyfriend is because I have so much support. You need his help to keep going because the first 4-6 weeks are going to be hard. He will learn about stuff he can do to make it easier for you. In the beginning (first 2 weeks) you will be tired and sore from the birth. He can help out by holding the baby and bringing him or her to you when its time to feed. I did not make my class but the instructions did say to bring your partners. If all else you can call and ask.
