Hello,
I have a question, my company seems to be going out of business, I was promoted to manager six months ago and I am doing a great job but this company seems to be going out despite my efforts, My question is do I stay or do I go? My dilemma is I am worried my next employer will think I had something to do with my previous companies failure. Which I haven't. I don't want to tarnish my future employment. But I would like to hang in there as long as I can.

Thank you,
Mary Peters

Hello mary!
If I were you I'd stay in this company but in the meanwhile I'i search for something new.. As for the possibility to connect you with the failure don't worry.. If you quit now then nobody can blame you.. To my opinion I think that you should hurry before it's too late but don't look anxious..
I hope my advice help you..
Oh I forgot! Only you can decide what's wrong and what's right so do not let anybody press you to a decision..
Good luck!!

A company does not go out of biz because of one manager.

Most potential employers wouldn't think that.

Job search now.

I would certainly start looking around for another position now before it get's too late in the game. It is not your fault about the company's misfortunes and another employer will not look unkindly upon you for wanting to leave. Better to go while you see the writing on the wall then be out of work and trying to make ends meet on unemployment.

While you may certainly want to look, on the other hand, if they make a great comeback and expand latter, you will be in a good position with the old company for sticking it out with them.

Companies go out of business all the time, and the higher pay level you are at, the longer it is taking in today's economy to find a better job.
