If your child support ends at age eighteen, are you still responsible for continuing insurance coverage in NC?

If you have a divorce settlement agreement it should be spelled out in that document when your responsibility ends for covering child with health insurance.

Normallly health insurance is part of your support that you are ordered to pay, But as noted, the child support court order should be very ( very) specific as to who pays what, when and for how long.

Often if the child goes to college both child support and insurance will be required to continue. If the child is stlil in high school, normally the child suspport and insurance will still contine also.

** again, normally, the court order is the final say ( or well a new court hearing to admend the current order can be the final say)

But as a parent, I am sure you would talk with your child about the insurance coverage, even after they are out of it. Of course under your insurance a child over 18 and under 21 who is still in high school or college can stay on your health insurance as a dependent anyway.
