Does anyone know the difference in the quality of HDMI cables? I see them in the electronic stores and they range in price from $50 to $150 yet you see others on Ebay for $10.

Does the age of the equipment matter as to which HDMI cable to select as long as there is an HDMI port? One salesman tried to sell me one costing over $100 but when I told him my Sharp Aquos was one year old he pointed me to a different cable.

Thanks.

Sneely,

Good morning. First of all, you can always count of the name brands, Belkin, Thomson Electronic, LG etc.

Second, the HDMI standard is a fairly new specification so I would suggest that most will meet the specification, few, like Belkin will exceed the spec. I would not be to worried about buying a junk piece of wire just yet.

Actually, most component vendors are starting to pack cables with the equipment. Give the cables you have a shot at use.
