We have a Hotpoint side by side model csx25grbb ww. The water despenser barely works, only a trickle. Ice maker, freezer and fridge all work fine. Can you help me?

Thank You

Joe

Check and see if the water feed valve for the refrigerator is open. This will be located on a copper pipe and looks like it is clamped onto the pipe. Just follow the water tubing from the refrigerator back to where it meets the house plumbing. If it is, close it all the way and open it up again. Many times the self piercing valves used during installation will develop a "crust" on the needle and block water flow. Closing the valve may remove a lot of the crust and open up the orifice as it should be. If this is the case, you may wish to replace the valve by turning off water to the house, open faucet at top and bottom of house to drain water lines, replace, turn water back on, and bleed air out of system.

The second thing (and unlikely) is a clogged filter. If you have a lot of sediment in your water-especially well water-it may clog the inline filter. In this case, shut off the water, replace the filter (available at Sears parts counter among other places), restore water and check again.

If it's not these two things, there may be a strainer on the water inlet of the appliance that is clogged. Strainers are usually located right at the entry point of the unit and look like a small piece of brass screen.

Outside of this, possibly a weak solenoid valve or other restriction inside the water circuit, in which case you would be best advised to get a service man to look at it. (Sears, 1800GECARES).

Good luck, and I hope this helps.
