I just moved in to a house that has a Hampton Bay model 552 ceiling fan in one room. It is too large and I want to offer it on e-bay, but do not know it's value. Does anyone have an idea how much it is worth (new) ?

When I sell on eBay, I try to look up the item I'm selling and establish a price based on existing offers. Just remember-shipping for this thing is going to be more than a 39 cent stamp! You will never get the new price for it (especially after adding shipping).

I searched Ebay, and prices for Hampton Bay fans run from 20-100+ dollars before shipping, and the model number you mention does not come up.

I would offer it at 20.00 starting price and see if any bids come up. If you want to avoid packaging and shipping problems, offer it for PICKUP ONLY-you'll probably get a better price that way, but will be knocking out 95 percent of potential bidders.

Hope this helps.

Used ceiling fans aren't worth much online unless they are a Casablanca, or are cast iron (some Hunters, antique ceiling fans). You will probably get more for it at a yard sale or local consignment shop, unless it is really fancy and new looking. If you just want to get rid of it, post it with a starting bid under $10. Or donate it to a local Habitat for Humanity.
