Hi Everyone,

Does anybody have any advice on a way that I can make my prelit artificial Christmas tree "twinkle, dim, and flicker"?

I know there is the "twinkle" bulb that you can put into a string of lights to make the string twinkle, but what I would really like is a device or switch that can control the power supply from the wall outlet to the prelit tree or additional string of lights, to get the flickering effect.

Not that I'm aware of. The twinkle sets use special bulbs. There are flashers that will make the whole tree blink on and off.

Thank you for your response.

I have a separate string of lights with 16 multifunctions, i.e. "chase, twinkle, etc.", I changed out the bulbs before with some steady normal christmas bulbs and it works with the multifunctions lights string.

Quote me if I am wrong, I am not sure it requires a special bulb. I think any bulb works as long as there is a chip that control the pattern flow of electricity, which I am referring to a device that makes any strings of lights attached to it flashing, twinkle, etc.

Any suggestions??

The twinkle lights I am referring to are different than the multi-function lights, which use regular bulbs but a "computerized" controller. Either way, the only way to do it for your tree will be to replace the entire light set(s).
