I have a 1994 lumina van,3.1 engine. My radiator fan wasn't working ,so a friend direct wired it.it was fine for a long time until the wire came loose and caught fire (very small) but it burned a small vacuum hose running on the passenger side under the hood.I drove it home and had my son check it ,but when he touched it it broke apart. After that it would run but it would die out after a few miles. We took a small piece of hose and reconnected the broken vacuum hose back together . It ran fine for awhile but then one day it wouldn't start.Since the gas gage isn't accurate I thought it needed gas so I put 2 gallons in it . It almost started so I put another 5 gallons in. It started right up so I drove to the gas station andfilled it up ; it only held 5 gal. so I know it wasn't out of gas . The next day I tried to start it and again it wouldn't start. We changed the cap and rotor and it's getting gas in the carburator. It appears to be getting spark but we decided to change the spark plugs anyway but can't figure out how to get the back 3 out and don't know if this will even solve the problem.
