Hey everyone myself and my husband have been trying to get pregnant for a year now I am wondering if there is something wrong with me or my husband! I have diabetes and have had it since I was 4 and my husband has an undecended testical and that has been his whole life obviously. What do you think we should do? I have a dr appointment on the 10th of this month. Do you think I should ask my dr about it? I really want to be pregnant! I want to give my husband a child. Please let me know what you all think! Thanks, jons_angel_2005

It takes most healthy couples up to 12 months to conceive naturally, and after that it is suggested that both couples seek medical advice, to make sure that nothing is preventing pregnancy from occurring. I would definitely say that having an undecended testicle could be making it harder for you to conceive. Reasons being that the sperm needs to be kept at a cooler temperature, and that is why testes are down in the scrotum, it helps keep it far enough away from the body heat that they are kept cooler. Being up inside could be keeping the sperm in that testicle warm enough that it could be upsetting the quality and performance of the sperm. Since only one is undecended, I would imagine the other is probably working just fine, so your chances as far as sperm are probably just cut in half. However, your doctor would definitely be the one that needed to confirm or deny that. He could be just fine. It could possibly be blockage in your tubes that doesn't allow the sperm to get through, endo, or possibly your diebetes interfering, etc. or you could be fine too. Sometimes these things just take time. The best bet is for you to tell your doctor all of your concerns and questions, they will probably perform a few tests to better understand the situation, and will be able to give you more definite answers. Good luck to you both.
