What would be the best color for metal roofing since my house is painted Hunter Green and trimmed in tan. I would send a picture of this house but the picture has too many bytes.

I'd go with a chocolate brown. https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/interior-home-improvement/stuck-wooden-windows-167735-new.html

Well without a color wheel, I was thinking the darker toasted red.
But the brown with brown shutters would be nice

That does sound nice too, kind of a burnt umber maybe?

Take a picture of it and run copies off in black and white get a box of colored pencils and start coloring the different shades of metal that the companies offer. That is how I picked colors for my house.
I will say that I have seen a lot of the red roofs lately... but I think the brown would blend better.

Do you want it to be the same as the hunter green or the tan on the trim? That might be nice?

This would depend on a few things. Such as your taste/opinion, everybody has different taste. Since the trimming in tan, you may want to consider a energy efficient tan or white roof coating (http://www.whitcoroofing.com/coatings.html) for your metal roof.
