This has been driving me mad for almost a year now!

I have had a computer engineer look at it too, and is stumped!

The problem is that when adjusting the volume/brightness/contrast, etc on my laptop there used to be visuals on the screen.

For some reason this has stopped coming up

How do I get it back... I have tried through volume/display controls etc... nothing!

Don't know what difference it makes, but I always get asked:

It is a dell inspiron 6400 laptop, running on XP home edition

Please help, this is now a mission! If someone out there figures this out... you will be dubbed the best computer person in the world!

Thanks

Similar problem before, it is the keyboard driver - either you updated it and doesn't recognize the command as to see it on the screen, for me personally, the functions still work and deal with it. If you did get an update somewhere in the past you could prbably rollback to the original driver
