I recently purchased two Harbor Breeze Bellhaven fans.. I used 14 gauge wire with 15 amp circuit.. The wire was used in the past for a heater/light in my bathroom, which I replaced including the wiring. So I used the old wiring for the new fans I installed.
I purchased two Harbor Breeze switches having a light dimmer and speed control for the fan on them. I wired everything, but nothing worked. I realized the switches were bad, replaced those, but nothing works.

I then tried to take all switches out and replace with a single toggle switch ON/OFF and tried the fan and light by the pull switch.. Nothing... The switch, fan and light section are all getting power because I tested it with a tester.

Then I thought maybe the first wall switch possibly shorted out the fan and purchased another fan, but it still doesn't work... All sections are receiving power.

Just for info I used one main power line for both switches, I pigtailed off the main power to power both switches.

Anybody with any suggestions would be extremely appreciated.

Lets start at the basic beginning. Have you put a tester on the wires coming into the box? What color wires do you have and how many? You could have a neutral and a hot but you may also just be looking at a switch loop. You need to figure how the old heater/light was wired. Check in the old box on the ceiling to see if the power went to that box and then down to the switch. How many wires come from each fan, and what colors?

Usually when I want to test a fan, I cut the end off an extension cord (or any other cord with plug) and wire the ribbed wire to white, and the smooth wire to black and blue/red/striped. Then I can plug it in to a working outlet and confirm the fan isn't the problem.

Come to think of it, confirm the reverse switch is firmly in one position.
