My best friend just found out she is pregnant. They have been trying for several months and have finally succeeded. I would like to send her flowers, but I know she is nervous about having a miscarriage so is not really telling many people until she feels she is out of the woods. I want to celebrate this now and not in 3 months. What is the etiquette for this?

If she says back off for right now, then back off. You can be emotionally supportive now and that perhaps is the best. Let her know that whenever she needs a shoulder, you will be there.

Yes, many women do not like to celebrate until they get past the 12 week mark (first 12 weeks highest incidence for miscarriage). Be happy for her, support her, but most of all, support her decision not to celebrate yet.

Yes I agree trust me the worst thing to do would be to celebrate now and her get all excited and then have something happen! I am now 3 days away from 14 weeks!! It was really hard for me to keep it from everyone!! Because I had a miscarriage in the summer where I was 3 days away from 3 months and I lost it!! Trust me when you get excited to early it is really sad to lose something after you have told everyone because then she would have to go threw the hole thing of telling people she lost it!! I hope I was of some help!! Trust me I no how she felt I was so scared when I found out I just couldn't wait until the 3 months! Now I'm passed and I can actually start to be happy and excited!
