What happen if I sit my car for 6 months without driving it and only strating the engine everyday for 10 min? If nothing happen do I need to do any maintenance after 6 months.

Yalali,

First of all, pose a real question. No one in his or her right mind is going to just sit in a car for six months and just periodically start the engine.

But if for some silly reason you did choose something so foolish. Then yes, you would still have required maintenance to do.

Even at rest, particularly when sitting, tires loose pressure. Because of the intermittent starts and stops your oil would still need to changed. By law, inspections may still be required. Filters and seals can deteriorate and so on.

Damage occurs to the engine and exhaust system via corrosion from unburned gas. The car would never reach closed-loop operation and would never burn off unburnt fuel. Seals need to be exercised so that they don't become dry. Fuel will turn to sludge without stabilizer. The exhaust and catalytic converter could be in jepardy. Tires could dry rot. And probably a host of other ailments.

10 min might be enough to keep the battery charged. It's better off using a trickle charger and/or driving the car once per week for 30 minutes.

donf:

You read it wrong too. "sit my car" suggests to me a person that English is a second language. That probably should read "let my car sit". Initially I thought one might end up with a sore backside until I re-read it.

Disconnect battery, air up the tires to max on the sidewall, fill the tank up, lock the doors, and throw a cover over it.

Then let it sit. Best thing for it. (for only 6mos anyway)

Sorry donf, I have forgotten to tell you that there are some people in this world living outside USA and english is not their first language.
By the way I have 150 cars in my showroom that is why am asking this question, I don't want to say it but people sometimes force you to mention it.
