Hello All,

I could use a little help with couple questions I have. I am interested in opening up tax return filing business. Would like to start with personal tax returns and eventually want to do both personal and business. My wife is in healthcare field and works on 1099 basis so our CPA advised her to open LLC in her name so we can show proper business expenses. Obviously our CPA would not be the best person to ask for me about opening up tax return business so I am asking if you guys think we should just open one LLC with both our field (tax preparation and healthcare servies) listed in business description when I apply for LLC with NJ state. Let me know if this is a sound strategy and whether you would recommend it.

Few more questions I have which I will post as I get answers on above questions. Thanks again folks.

I believe you can. As I understand you can put several DBAs or LPs into an LLC for protection purposes (from lawsuits, etc.). I don't know much about how taxes would work. You should ask a business lawyer about this as well as a good accountant who's up-to-date with tax laws.
