My daughter just turned 1. Since her party 1 month ago her father has seen her 1 time for 5 minutes. He brought me 28 diapers and a box of wipes. He has 6 other children who he never see's nor supports. 4 in FL (all he is supposded to pay child support on and he doesn't) and 2 here in LA (other than ours) who he doesn't have to pay on. He works, has switched his SS # to keep from paying. He hasn't even taken the liberty to call and ask how she is doing. He ignors my calls, or just asks why I won't let her stay the night with him (he stays with real bad people who are on drugs). When has he abandoned her legaly? What steps should I take in order to keep him from exposing her to the wrong environment? What should I do?

Legal abandonment is defined by the law of your state. Talk to a policeman or sheriff and find out how to contact a magistrate (someone who issues warrants). The magistrate will fill you in on the details of legal abandonment.

Hello LA:

You need a court order detailing visitation. I would hire a lawyer.
