I just recently bought a new garage door opener I use all the old wires and chain and just replaced motor after installing the door It doesn't go all the way down I turned down adjustment screw on side all the way and will only go about half way down still sensors are on it and seem to be working just stops about half way

Pull the quick release rope and allow the door to free roll. Does it close completely and open completely with only a small effort by hand? Close the dooor completely and then hit your remote allowing the traveler to run down to catch the door in a closed position. How does it operate now?

It is possible the old opener used limit switches tripped by the chain and they are still stopping the door. Find them and disconnect them.
