View Full Version : 93 honda civic starts but idles rough and has no power

I have a 93 honda civic that was running fine and then all at once started acting like it was hitting on 3 cylinders... I check the wires and plugs all where getting fire... I replaced the distrubator cap and button and fuel filter and still gettting the same thing... the car will start and idle rough then most of the time die then its like its hard to start back and it will try to backfire some... I know the timging is right I already checked it.. I had someoen tell me its possible the coil is bad and not letting it get the correct amount of spark it needs to run right is this possible... if not anymore suggestions would be greatly appreciated

. Reset the ECM, by pulling the Backup Fuse in the under-hood fuse box for 10 seconds.
. Ensure the spark plugs (NGK only) don't have more than 24,000 miles or 2 years on them.
. Test/replace the Ignition Control Module and coil. Most AutoZone stores can test them for free. Here's how to do it:
