Hi, I have an older house with approximately 4" between the ceiling and the roof. I'd like to install recessed lighting. Is there any recessed lighting on the market that will fit such a shallow space? Thanks so much for any help

The shallowest recess lighting I know of will fit in a void with 2 x 6 framing.

Think of it, try to fit a fixture housing, a lamp socket, and a light bulb, all in a 4" deep space, plus leave room for heat dissipation, does not leave much room for all that must fit in this space.

Your home must be very old, as standard framing for a horizontal surface would be no smaller than 2x6.

Perhaps you can consider strengthening your roof by installing deeper framing members.

Anyone that does state that they exist should offer direct links to a website that will show the fixture housing along with dimensions.
