Why does my power go out on one wall when I turn on my TV?

Sounds like a short in the outlet or your T.V. a lot of times when houses are built they will put more than one outlet on the same breaker so they will all trip if something is bad on that breaker or outlet. Good Luck!

How big of a TV? What else are you using at the same time? It is OK if you plug the TV in elsewhere? Add up the watts of everything that goes off. If it is more than 1800, it is too much for a 15 amp breaker. Actually for continuous loads, 1440 watts. You may need another circuit.

The breaker could be old and tired.

Well first, I need to know what electrical outlets or switches and some idea of the appliances attached to the wall.

Obviously, the TV and the failing wall, are connected. Does the TV fail when the failing wall goes "Toes up?"

Does TV trip if plugged into another circuit(Not just another Receptacle, different breaker)
