I have been searching and searching and found this site... Thank god!

I'm trying to find out the name of a movie that was back in the early 80's. It was about a young Mexican boy that was poor and liked BMX biking. I'm pretty sure the movie took place in California.

I do remember that he was poor and didn't have money for a nice new BMX bike like all the other kids and his dad and himself made a bike for him. He did end up racing on dirt tracks and having run in's with the "bad" crowd of other kids.

I know it's not Rad and BMX bandits... That I know for sure.

I do believe this was one of those... " Live and learn " kind of kids shows in the early age's of HBO.

Any help would sooo put my mind at ease... Thanks for any info. :D

It's funny, I was just trying to find out the name of that film and I found your question post and signed up here. I was going nuts trying to remember the name of that movie and I finialy found it. It was an episode of the series "insight" called "Loser Take All". The series was kind of like an "After School Special" but on another network. It actually ran for over 20 years. This episode first aired in 1978 and stared Gregory Siearra of Sanford and Son and Barny Miller fame. Not to be confused with the 1979 Woody Alen documentary of the same title.

Please let me know if you find a sight where it can be viewed free online.

Thanks. D:)

This is exactly it!

OMG You have no idea how happy this makes me! Is there any where that you know of that tells the plot of each episode? Just to make sure. I do remember the name Insight now. Not to sure about the "Loser Takes All" though.

I will be trying to contact anyone person(s) involved in the movie to see if there is a way to get a copy and or link to the movie.

Thanks for the info. If I do come across anymore info also I will be sure to post up any thing I hear.
