My boyfriend and I have been together 6 months and he doesn't hesitate to perform oral sex and I want to return the favour but am not really sure where to start or what to do. Any tips would be appreciated?

Hello elrp2,
A Q&A site is probably not the best place to give details and describe how to perform oral sex. Therefore I have given you a couple of websites which should give you plenty of help and information on the subject.
Simply click the links below:
http://www.sexual-health-resource.org/oral_sex.htm
http://honeymoons.about.com/od/oralsex/
I hope these sites are of help.

Hi,
BE SURE and use safe sex. Be sure he puts on a condom. There are far too many sexual types of diseases, some very serious, some not so serious.
Don't perform oral sex on him without a condom.
Happy New Year.

I would agree 100% make sure that he is wrapped up before you do anything like that :)
Safe sex is a must in this day and age

To fredg,
You are absolutely right, I should have pointed out and emphasized the importance of taking precautions.
Thank you for rectifying my oversight.
I would have posted a personal comment on your post but I have not got enough Rep Power at present.
Hope you had a nice holiday.

Using a condom is a great recommendation, but you should also be aware that a condom will NOT protect you if your partner has genital herpes. Genital herpes can be all over the genital area, rectum and upper legs, not just on the penis. And if a person is positive for genital herpes they will be shedding the virus (meaning, they will be infectious) for a few days before any sores are visible. If you are going down on someone and they have herpes, you can get infected in your eyes, which can lead to blindness. You can also infect yourself through what is called "secondary infection", by touching his penis and then say, touching your vagina... So be very careful and be sure to have a frank discussion with your partner about all of this.
Also crabs (genital lice), are VERY easy to contract; you only have to wear the same pants or even sleep in the same bed to catch them. But I'm sure if he has crabs you would have caught them already and you would KNOW you had them!
Anyway always best to be safe rather than sorry...
