I was guilty of shoplifting at boots plc. It was only a lipstick, I never done this before. I have no criminal record. I am banned for lifetime from the store.
They have taken my detail and they charge me 118 pounds for retail loss prevention. I want to ask you can I get any concession to start shopping again at boots. I did not tell any one at home I am really worry and am ashamed of this.
Please help me in this matter. I also want to apply for british citizenship will this affect on my application.
I did not go to police station. This punishment was given by a security officer at boots.
I am really worried please help me
Thanks

I'm sure there are plenty of other places you can shop. It sounds like you got off lightly because they didn't get the police involved. So your citizenship application shouldn't be affected.

Let well enough alone.

If you never went to court then you were not charged with a crime . Some stores have what they call mediation or arbatration where they handle petty theft crimes themselves . I would recommend however to stay away from the store for awhile and maybe write the manager a letter apologizing . If this is something you do regulary you nedd to seek some counceling .
