Has anyone heard of a program called Debt Relief Education Service? They claim they can reduce your debt 75% or more. I am getting deeper in debt with no light at the end of the tunnel. Work is slow and I'm trying to stay out of bankruptcy. Most of my debts are credit cards. Banks won't refinance even though my credit score is in the 700's.

Never heard of them. You know what they say about getting something for nothing?

Most of the claims will be bull most likely, a lot will depend on how old the debts are and with what companies they are with. Each debt settlement company has agreements with varoius credit card companies as to what they will settle, some will not settle at all, others will for 20 percent some 50, and maybe a few at 75 percent..

The only way you will ever get out of debt is to spend less than you make. Make a budget, then go through and cut out everything you don't need. There is no magical formula.

If you are looking into a debt settlement program, be sure to research several companies. Generally, your debts can be settled for 30 to 50 cents on the dollar--generally. Do be very careful of companies who offer these miracle settlements. Some may get settled for more than 50%, but do your research. It may be helpful to go to the International Association of Professional Debt Arbitrators to see if that company is even listed and which companies are highly ranked.
