We are moving from tn to n.c. my daughter wants to go. She is on probation for thieft under 500. Misder minor. She asked the po if she could go. They said no she had to stay here until done. If she goes I know she will violate. If she gets cought in n.c. will they bring her back. And if they do will she serve the 109 days or the year.

If she goes, and the PO finds out, he will put a warrant out for her arrest. Since NC and TN are fairly close yes most likely they will bring her back, but besides that she will have a outstanding warrant, which can effect her getting any job with a back ground check, getting some credit, how much she may pay for car insurance and more.

Also how long she has to serve in jail will depend on the judge, some will make it a few days for the violation and put them back on probation ( back in TN) so she would then be there with no place to leave or work.

She can address this with an attorney to the judge to ask, but it takes many things, first the state of NC has to give her permission to come, then TN has to give her permission to leave. There entire process will take some time if it even gets approved. The PO recommendation means a lot on this also.
