What happens two hours after we have eaten, at what stage is the digestion process at that moment?
My little grandson, 9 months' old, is always violently sick exactly two hours after he's had oats. He has no trouble with any other grain, or indeed anything at all, and he has a very varied diet. It's been like this ever since he first had oats a couple of months ago, it has not improved at all. The oats is a carefully prepared baby variety and it happens even when he's had very little, just cooked in water.
Personally when I have indigestion, it also starts about two hours after eating.
Hope someone can enlighten us, the doctors don't know. Thanks!

I can only answer from my experience with oatmeal. Is there gluten in that oatmeal? My youngest son was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and oatmeal -most oatmeals - are offensive. The only oatmeal he is allowed to eat is McCann's Irish Oatmeal. How would you know if there is gluten or a gluten based product? Look on the label - if your cereal was manufactured in a facility that processes other cereals, chances are there is gluten in that oatmeal. It takes a dedicated (meaning totally separated) plant and/or line to produce a gluten free cereal.

Ask the doctor about that possibility. If nothing else, do not feed him oatmeal anymore.

I too would venture a guess that he has an allergy to oats. You should stop feeding him the oats you are currently feeding him, completely... and bring this up at the next pediatrician's visit.

I do not like to leave children's health up to strangers on the internet, especially with a child this young.
