We have a really old Gaffers and Sattler furnace (over 18 years old I believe). It's ran great and we have kept it maintained, but not we are having a problem.

We can hear the furnace turn on to heat up, but then it doesn't kick on to blow air all the time. Sometimes it doesn't turn on at all, sometimes it turns on and off too much, other times it runs fine.

I did notice a switch in it this morning that says Speed- High - Low... I touched it and the furnace turned on right away.

Any idea what this is?

Probbly a defective switch OR

You need to replace your fan control. Locate the part on wiring diagram on the door of the furnace blower and replace. See sticky notes at the beginning of this board for some pics of fan and limit controls.

It was the switch... we couldn't find the exact one, but were able to replace it with a regular light switch and the furnace is working fine now! Thanks!
