My HP desktop, running Windows XP crashed. I am getting the following error message Error: NTLDR is compressed. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart
WHen I press C_A_D, it just goes to the error message again... and cycles like that.

I have gone to the HP website and read the instructions, but don't have the recovery disks. The instructions on the second half of the page don't seem to work... any ideas?

Insert your XP disk and do a system recovery?

But I DOn't have the XP disk... Hp's don't come with one. They have it on a partition and you make about a dozen recivery disks- which have been long-since scattered. I got past that part... now it hangs up on the start-ip right after the finish button...

Can you load it in safe mode?
