please please please help me... I have a 5 month old wheaten terrier that will not pee or poop outside. I take him for long walks all over my neighborhood and my yard and he just will not go. As soon as I take him in, he pees or poops somewhere inside my house. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do??
Thanks again

Usually a walk is the first thing I suggest in these cases. Check the sticky at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/information-articles-our-dogs-expert-labman-53153.html#post251809 Watch him until you see the signs he needs to go out. Then take him out and walk, walk, walk until he can't hold it any longer. When he goes, lavish praise on him. Walk some more if he wants to, so he doesn't catch on to eliminating means the end of the walk. The smarter the dog, the more difficult to train. Some dogs are smart enough to know exactly what you want, and how to get what they want without doing it.

Ok when your cleaning or doing something at home and u don't want him running around put him in a crate then take him outside and put him in 1 spot stay there for 5 min if he doesn't go put him back in the crate and 5 min later take him back to that spot keep doing that until he learns that that is the only place to potty!:D

mandieluu is right! The crate may seem terrible at first but my husky was like that when I got him. He has separation anxiety and would go to the bathroom if I was just out of the room, so now I have a crate and if I yell or anything he runs to it because he loves it. I put him there when I leave or anything like that and as soon as he comes out of the cage we go outside. I refuse to take him inside until he uses the bathroom and if he doesn't go he goes back to the crate. But make sure there is something like a blanket or toy that he likes in the crate so it inst a punishment unless it is intended to be. If my dog goes in the house I take his blanket away and he knows I'm upset with him.
