Good suggestion on what stuff you should get are

A 8600 - 8800 GFX card.
Core 2 duo E6750 - excellent according to most sites.
Get 2 -4 gig of ram.. 2 gig will do.
Get an ASUS P5N-E SLI - definatley the best for its price range.

Not sure on total , but go search for emm.

Dumbo,

Being a novice at computers is nothing to be ashamed of. We all started as newbies.

First of all, get a print-out of the system information. Also, find the owners manual or go online to Dell and see if it is there for you.

What you want to do is make sure that whatever you upgrade to matches the resources you have on the Mother-board. If not, don't waste your time getting a component that is not compatible with your PC.

If you are upgrading system RAM, make absolutely sure you get the correct speed and wait-state memory for your PC. The size (form factor) must also be correct. The owner's manual will tell you what you need.

You should also consider replacing the old PC with a new one and using the older one for as a repository of data files.

Jason,

Please if you have a new question, open a new posting, don't piggyback on an existing question.

Sys. Restore is a feature of the Windows Control program.

Go under Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.
