Just do a search on UNIX. Linux is an open source version of Unix. Unix is proprietary and not free.

I gave you one, linux.org is another. While Linux is open source, there are several installer shells that are not. Before you download it, you need to learn all the ins and outs of installing it.

There are multiple Free versions of Unix including the BSDs (FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD) and OpenSolaris. Also, Solaris 10 is available from Solaris Operating System (http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/index.jsp) for free. Mac OS X is also Unix, but it's not free.

Ubuntu Home Page | Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com)
Ubuntu is a rather user-friendly version of Linux and very similar to Windows in ways. Many Windows users find the switch to Ubuntu rather painless. It installs easy and it's easy to use (install programs, navigate directories, etc.).
