Sounds like the "Required to boot" option got set in the bios. To turn it off, you need to go into the bios, which will require you to enter the password and press whatever key it asks you to to enter BIOS or SETUP. Usually it's F1, F2, F10, F12, or Delete. Find the option for entering a password at boot, which is usually under "Boot", "Power", or "User", and turn it off.
