I have laid a bet with a friend that I can answer the following riddle in the next few hours and not wanting being a stubborn wastrel as well as incongruous I took up on this. Problem is I'm flummoxed! I'm terrible with riddles etc!

If anyone can help me I'd be so so grateful and also slightly less impoverished than I stand to be at the minute!

This is how it was put to me:

I went to a shop and bought it, I was happy with it. I didn't want it, I left without it and I wasn't robbed. What was it?

Apparently the not wanting it is a clue.

Please help!!

Making a bet on something you're terrible at IS pretty incongruous. Maybe if it costs you money, you'll think twice before you do it next time. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas all!

The answer turned out to be... a haircut.

I didn't win my bet but I think that it's a pretty poor riddle regardless! Maybe I'm just a sore loser :p
