I'm currently 15 turning 16 next month in January, and I might be pregnant, I don't know for sure but I do know that I'm a week late. My boyfriend is currently 18 and we've discussed the fact that I might be pregnant and we've decided to keep the baby but I haven't told my parents and everything's just really confusing right now

Might be?? Have you had a pregnancy test to be sure, even talking it to your boyfriend is OK, but if you are not sure, you may be making a lot of plans that are not needed.

Next of course in many places in the US at 15, your boyfriend can be charged with rape, since 15 is under the age of consent in most states in the US. So sorry to add to more confusion.

But have a test, and if you are talk to your parens, since there will be a lot of plans to make to allow you to stay in school and be watching and caring for a baby also.

Sorry you are scared honey. If you are a week late, get a home pregnancy test. You can find them at most drugstores. Look around the pharmacy section. When you use the test use it the first time you have to go pee in the morning. It's more likely to be accurate then. If it says you aren't pregnant, wait another week or so and see if your period comes. If it says positive, or if you don't get your period for a couple more weeks, go to the doctor and ask for a pregnancy test there.

If you look in the yellow pages in the phone book, or look it up online, you can probably find clinics in your area which offer free pregnancy testing or at least reduced cost. Look under 'Crisis Pregnancy Centers' or women's clinics.

Once you know for sure then, of course, you will have to tell your folks. That can be hard, but you need to do it as soon as you know so that you can get the important medical care you will need if you are pregnant. It would probably be a good idea to talk to them about it anyway, since they can get you in for a pregnancy test asap, not to mention you will probably feel better with it all out in the open. You're probably scared and maybe your folks could help you feel better.

Periods are sometimes late for no reason. But, if you have been having unprotected sex, then there is always the chance of pregnancy. Even if you find out you aren't pregnant, go to the ob-gyn doctor anyway so that you can start having annual women's health exams. It's very important to get this exam at least once a year once you become sexually active.

Good luck! And if you are pregnant, there is a lot of help out there. You can set things up so that you can still finish school and have medical care for you and your baby. There are people who will help you get clothes, diapers, etc.
