There used to be a really great site to find birthdays. It was anybirthday.com. Unfortunately, it is no longer in existence.
If you type in birthday database in a Google search, you will find at least a couple of databases. Birthday Database - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Birthday+Database&btnG=Google+Search) This one, Free Birthday Database (http://www.birthdatabase.com/) does a pretty good job. But, not everyone that I have looked up is on it. Also, when you are looking up the birthdays of people, chances are that you are not going to find those for people who are under the age of 18.
Another source to find the birthdates for people would be to use court records that are available online. A lot of places in the U.S. have these available. Typically, how you might search for an online database of court records would be to type in something like Online Court Records and then the name of the County whose court records you would like to find. A couple of other words that might be added to the search would be "select action."
I know when the birthdays are of most of my neighbors and like to surprise them with a birthday card without them knowing how I found the date of their birth!

I was surprised, I was going to say they most likely was not available, but that free birthday data base was very good.
