Are you planning on getting married at the army base where he is stationed in South Korea and also having the marriage ceremony performed by an army chaplain or other official in the army who may be qualified to perform such ceremonies? I would think that if you are, then there should be no issues concerning being married there once you return to the U.S. as long as you have a valid, signed married license or certificate.
However, if you want to get married by someone from South Korea and have the ceremony not take place on the army base, or not performed by army personnel, then I did find some information from the following site that might be helpful to you. Getting Married in a Foreign Country (http://www.worldbridal.com/course/getting_married_in_a_foreign_cou.htm)
Getting Married in a Foreign Country
1. Decide which country you want to be married in.
2. Find out about marriage requirements- legal and religious, as well as marriage license requirements.
3. Know which documents you will need, and if they will need to be translated into that country's native language or not. Always take your passport and birth certificate with you.
4. Know the residency requirements, as each country's law on this is different.
5. Know that you may need to file an affidavit of your eligibility to marry with your country's embassy located in the country in which you want to be married.
6. You may be required to bring documented proof of divorce, death certificates, or annulment of a prior marriage, if you have been married before.
7. Find out about medical tests (blood test, vaccinations, x-ray) and where they are to be performed, and if they need to be translated into that country's native language.
8. Use a us to set up your wedding, hotel accommodations, and travel requirements in advance- so that your wedding is a worry free event.
9. Know how much the fees are for the marriage license, translation, and/or civil/religious ceremony will cost.
10. Decide if you will buy your wedding attire and rings in your country, or if you will rent wedding attire in the country in which you choose to be married. Also, decide if you want traditional wedding attire that is used in the country in which you want to be married.
