I have a Genie Pro Max PMX500IC/B garage door opener. It was recently repaired by a friend but he said I need the manual to set the limits in order to use it. I don't have the manual and want to know:

1. how can I set the limits without the manual
Or
2. how can I get a copy of the manual inexpensively? It is a relatively old opener (5-7 years old).

Thanks!:)

It is potentially dangerous. Inside unit will be 2 wheels that need to be adjusted after releasing the side bar. A llittle at a time is safer, you don't want it slamming down, or harming door. There is a up and down limit. Will see if I can find Manual.
Once you look at it it will make more sense.

Thanks for your help. If you can find the manual, that would be so wonderful. If not, should I just (carefully) look in the unit, release side bar (what/where is that?) and turn the wheels (is one for the upper and one for the lower limit of the door?) How do I know how much to turn the wheels? I really know nothing about this so you can be very basic with me and I would be grateful, not offended. Thanks!
