1) Find the equation of a line that passes through the points (1,2) and (3,4)

2) Solve for x: x^3 - 3x^2 - 7x + 21

3) Find the x-intercepts: 5x^2 + 2y^2 + 4xy - 14 = 0

4) Write the transformation that moves x^2 a Horizontal shift 5 units to the right a vertical shift of three.

5) Factor the polynomial completely : x^3 + 3x^2 - 16x - 48

6) Classify the graph of 5x^2 + 5y^2 - 4x + 6y = 10

I hate to be the "mean guy"... but posting problems won't get you much help here. Try to ask a general question like, GIVEN TWO POINTS, HOW DO YOU FIND THE EQUATION OF A LINE?

... and even then, people might tell you to 1) go get a tutor... 2) look on Google.

I will give you the equations for each but I will not answer them for you. Your book should explain the equations but it gives you a place to start.

1) (Y1-Y2)/(X1-X2) = the first y-the second y divided by first x- second x
2)set equation equal to zero, factor the equation or make it factorable, then solve for zero
3) if it is an x intercept then y=0 plug it in!
4) don't be lazy your book has that in exact words most likely
5) if you don't know how to factor... email me and ill help but your going to need a tutor for calc.
6) use a graphing calculator then refer to your book.
