 hi,I'm wondering if I can get some help please.I have a toilet cubical and I want to change it over to shower room.the only problem we can work out is,the old toilet waste in the floor has to become the waste for the shower,I went to b&Q and asked the man what I need he gave me a grey bung and it has a connector to attaché the shower flexi waste pipe to it.but I'm not quiet sure this is the bit I need ,because what happens to smells from down the drain?will they come up through the shower waste? My hubby thinks there should be a open close bit inside the grey bung but I'm not sure.all the walls and shower stuff is attached and this is the last bit,and I'm having so much stress it's a joke.I would be happy if someone could help me please, many thanks and happy christmas... tracy x

Here is the issue, your toilet drain pipe is not trapped, the trap was built into the toilet but now that will be gone. The shower needs a trap and you need space below the floor to install a trap. Can you get at the drain from underneather the bathroom floor?

It will be snug. You also need to transition done from your 2" shower drain to your 3 or 4" toilet drain. What is your toilet drain made from PVC or cast iron?
