Hello I'm amie and I am 18 I have a 15 year old friend who is in need of help her mother and step father abuse her consantly and I don't think this is right she has often asked me if I wuld get custody of her I thought it was a joke but then she is getting really depressed and withdrawn shuld I try and get custody of her I am willing to go through all the hassel and fianical stuff but I just want to no if what I am thinking of doing is right?

If she is truly abused, the first step is to call Child Protective Services in your area.

If there is abuse going on it needs to be reported, but make sure its abuse and not a cunning ploy to get out of the house. Have you seen this abuse for yourself?

For you to get custody of her you would need to prove her parents as unfit. The first step to that is to have your local chidrens or family services agency investigate.
