How can I go about getting an Early probation discharge in Berks Co. PA? I have completed everything that was court ordered, paid all fines and costs, and have completed 30 out of 60 months probation. I have also been placed on minimal supervision (reporting once every three months) since April 2006. This was all on a 2nd dui and I never had an attorney.

Ask your PO for the written policy and procedures manual for his department. In it, you'll find the criteria for an early release. If you meet this criteria, make a request in writing citing the particular policy.

It's possible that your jurisdiction doesn't have any provisions for early release. However, I'll bet they do.

It's not surprising to me, of course, that he's never read his own policy manual.
